Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 10th, 2026
Voyager AI LLC, doing business as Nix the Nic ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Nix the Nic mobile application ("App") and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By using the Services, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
a. Information You Provide Directly
- Name or nickname (if provided)
- Email address (if you choose to create a full account)
- Current nicotine pouch usage habits (e.g., pouches per day, duration, nicotine strength)
- Quit or reduction goals and target dates
- Pouch usage logs (manually logged start/end times, durations)
- Notification preferences and scheduling settings
- Promo or referral codes used during signup
b. Automatically Collected Information
- Anonymous account creation: When you first open the App, we automatically create an anonymous account so you can use the App without providing personal information. This account is associated with a unique identifier but does not contain your name or email unless you later choose to register.
- Device timezone (actively synced to provide time-aware features such as morning notifications and daily summaries)
- Device platform (iOS or Android)
- Crash reports, error logs, and diagnostic screenshots (collected via Sentry)
c. Subscription and Billing Information
- Subscription status (e.g., active, trialing, cancelled, expired)
- Subscription product identifier and billing period
- Trial start and end dates, renewal history, and cancellation details
Payment credentials (e.g., credit card numbers) are handled entirely by Apple or Google and are never collected or stored by us.
d. Attribution Information
- If you use a promo or referral code, we record which code was used and may associate your signup with the referring influencer, sales representative, or marketing campaign for the purpose of attribution and commission tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Generate and adjust personalized tapering plans
- Send notifications (scheduled or behavioral)
- Track your progress and display visual insights
- Respond to support requests or account deletion
- Manage your subscription and verify premium access
- Attribute signups to referral sources for commission tracking
- Display usage data on lock screen widgets and Live Activities (iOS)
- Perform background tasks such as refreshing notifications and daily summaries
- Improve app functionality, reliability, and experience
- Comply with legal or security obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share your data with third parties only in the following cases:
- Supabase: We use Supabase for backend database storage, authentication (including anonymous accounts), and server-side functions. Supabase may access data as needed to provide secure and reliable service.
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user identifier and subscription state (e.g., active, trialing, expired) to verify premium access and process billing events. RevenueCat does not receive your name or email.
- Sentry: We use Sentry for crash reporting and error diagnostics. When an error occurs, Sentry may receive your user identifier, email address (if registered), error screenshots, and device information to help us diagnose and fix issues.
- Expo: We use Expo to deliver over-the-air app updates. Expo may receive basic device information to determine update compatibility.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to prevent fraud or harm.
4. Notifications
The App may send notifications:
- Based on your tapering plan (e.g., time to stop or wait)
- Based on your usage behavior (e.g., inactivity reminders)
- At fixed intervals (e.g., daily morning check-ins)
- When a pouch timer ends
Your notification preferences are stored on our servers so they persist across devices. You can manage notification settings within the App or disable notifications entirely through your device settings at any time.
5. Widgets and Live Activities
On iOS, the App may display your usage data (such as pouch counts, durations, and daily targets) on lock screen widgets and Live Activities. This data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to any third party through these features.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services.
If you use the App anonymously (without registering), your account is associated only with an anonymous identifier. We do not retain your name or email unless you choose to register. Anonymous accounts and their associated data may be deleted automatically after a prolonged period of inactivity.
If you request deletion, we will erase your personal data. A journey reset (available within the App) removes your usage data, goals, and plans but preserves your account credentials if you have registered (name, email). To request full account deletion including all personal identifiers, contact us at: nixthenic@gmail.com
We may retain limited data where legally required or permitted for fraud prevention, legal compliance, or safety.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict data processing (where applicable)
- Withdraw consent for notifications or marketing (if applicable)
To make any of these requests, email us at: nixthenic@gmail.com
We may require identity verification before fulfilling requests.
8. International Users (EU/UK)
If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR include:
- The right to access and portability of your data
- The right to be forgotten
- The right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
We rely on your consent and contractual necessity (e.g., providing a paid subscription service) as legal bases for processing your data.
Your data may be stored and processed outside your jurisdiction (e.g., in the United States) via our use of Supabase, RevenueCat, Sentry, and Expo.
9. Children's Privacy
Nix the Nic is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have mistakenly collected data from a minor, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Security Measures
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. However, no online system can be 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by other appropriate means. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
